Q Question Prompt for Short Essay The Covid-19 pandemic has many parents and educators deeply concerned about the amount of screen time their children are exposed to as their school, extracurricular, and social activities move to virtual and online formats. (1) What consequences could this unprecedented use of technology and access to media content have on young people’s cognitive and/or socioemotional development and behavior? (2) How can parents and educators optimize their adolescents’ media use to promote positive outcomes and minimize negative ones? The present pandemic situation is unfortunate and can develop several questions in the minds of children between the ages of 12 to 18 years. The unanswered questions in the minds of these children can make then misuse the internet and the social media.
